I filmen 'Practical Magic: Magi i familien' kommer Sandra Bullock og Nicole Kidman tilbage som Owens-søstrene Sally og Gillian, som vi første gang mødte på det store lærred i 1998.
Da Sallys datter Kylie (Joey King) begynder at grave i familiens fortid, opdager hun hemmeligheder om Owens-familiens historie. Samtidig begynder hun selv at udvikle mørke magiske kræfter, som sætter hele familien på prøve og bringer den århundreder gamle forbandelse tilbage.
For at beskytte Kylie og resten af den nye generation af hekse må Sally (Sandra Bullock) og Gillian (Nicole Kidman) endnu en gang stå sammen. Jagten på svar fører dem tilbage til familiens rødder, hvor de må konfrontere kilden til deres magi og forsøge at redde den næste generation.
'Practical Magic: Magi i familien' er en varm film instrueret af Susanne Bier, der tidligere har stået bag det Oscar-vindende drama 'Hævnen'. Sandra Bullock (The Lost City) og Nicole Kidman (Babygirl) får denne gang selskab af bl.a. Joey King (Bullet Train) og Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones).
