I action-thrilleren 'Plane' må piloten Brodie Torrance nødlande i et usikker jungleområde, for at redde sine passagerer fra et lynnedslag.
Det usikre jungleområdet viser sig dog hurtigt at være hærget af krig, og da størstedelen af hans passagerer og besætning bliver taget til fange af øens oprørere, må han søge hjælp fra den den mordanklagede FBI-fange Louis Gaspare, der også var ombord på flyet.
I rollen som Brodie Torrance kan man se den garvede action-helt Gerard Butler, der har delt øretæver ud i en række film så som '300', 'Olympus Has Fallen' og 'Hunter Killer'. Butler spiller overfor Mike Colter, som er kendt som Luke Cage i serien af samme navn.
