Den intense og underholdende thriller 'The Housemaid' følger Millie, der forsøger at lægge sin fortid bag sig og tager job som boende hushjælp hos den velhavende Winchester-familie.
Men bag de lukkede døre og den perfekte facade gemmer sig løgne og farlige hemmeligheder. Snart bliver et tilsyneladende drømmehjem forvandlet til et klaustrofobisk spil om kontrol, magt og begær.
Filmen 'The Housemaid' er baseret på Freida McFaddens ultrapopulære bogserie af samme navn (på dansk Hushjælpen), og har stjerner som Sydney Sweeney('Anyone But You') og Amanda Seyfried i hovedrollerne.
